Her portrayal of each child and adult is unique, giving each character their own presence and purpose for the story. The illustrations by Holly Clifton-Brown are simple in style, but developed and detailed in execution. The text is developed, yet accessible for children, making it a great jumping off point for conversation. Schiffer elegantly approaches the topic of LBGTQ families, along with race and multi-generational aspects. ![]() ![]() Stella Brings the Family is an outstanding book for any household to illustrate how families come in varying styles, sizes, and colors. ![]() Uncertain how to handle the celebration, Stella’s friends help her discover how important her dads are, and how special and different every family is!
